Creating a connection with your model and making a person comfortable can really show a feeling and a moment in time when taking a portrait. If you can’t feel it yourself as the photographer at the time, then no one else will, when looking at your images.
I like to capture portraits that highlight my models best features in that unguarded moment, with emotion and expressions that are not staged.
The background to me also matters, that is why I love to use nature as the perfect backdrop and lighting.
